Propelling solar energy to a next generation
CONTEXT
The demand for solar energy systems is rapidly increasing, but ‘standard’ solar solutions have their limitations. Enter Taylor, an Eindhoven University of Technology spin-off, with its promising solar optimizer technology, supported by a smart business model. Taylor offers users real next-generation solar technology: more power from their rooftop, plus real-time insights into their solar energy system. With this timely business model, all Taylor needed was a strong voice to get its message across.
CREATION
We created a new brand identity that perfectly embodies Taylor’s promise of ‘More Power’. The company’s USPs – boosting the capacity, profitability, readability and safety of solar systems – are embedded in an elegant and high-end aesthetic that shows a keen eye for detail. The suitably star-like logo suggests the sun and can also be read as a plus sign, symbolizing ‘More Power’, and the fine-meshed grid echoes the structure of a solar panel. Colour, typography, layout and imagery are carefully balanced in the design system – firmly underlining Taylor’s commitment to solar excellence.
IMPACT
Taylor’s market visibility took a giant leap forward with the introduction of the brand identity, which coincided with the release of updated products and services. The new visual identity creates a future-proof basis for Taylor’s ambitions, allowing it to confidently claim its place as a leading next-gen solar energy company.
The star of the show
Appropriately star-like, the logo is derived from the negative space of four solar panels placed together. The symbol can also be read as a plus sign, and therefore represents ‘More Power’ – exactly what Taylor promises to deliver with its technology.
